The Bitch is back! CRUELLA announced for NW Metal Fest in 2018
Please welcome Portland heavy metal masters CRUELLA to the 2018 Metalfest! Formed in early 1986 by guitarist Roger Decarlo and bassist Kate "Fate" Wilson. Soon Dave Hval joined on drums, Rick Nolen on vocals and Kirk Johnson on second guitar. They did a couple demo tapes and had two albums out on US Metal Records (a German label) - Vengeance is Mine (1988) and Shock the World (1990). They weathered various band lineup changes over the life of the band and played many shows in the NW at Starry Night, Pine Street Theater, Metal Palace, Ballard Firehouse, etc. The band broke up in early 1990, but reformed a short while later as a trio with DeCarlo on guitar,Robert Conrad on bass and lead vocals and Charles Nelson on drums and continued on playing shows until late 1992. DeCarlo and Nelson went on to join Arachnid and Conrad joined Lawless. NW Metalworx Music put out a 30th Anniversary vinyl LP reissue of Vengeance Is Mine in July of this year and Heaven and Hell Records reissued both albums on CD a couple of months later (with the latter album including never-before released demos from a last recording session in '92). This is the first time the band has played live since a one-off reunion in 1999 and features Roger DeCarlo, Rob Conrad, Charlie Nelson and new member Jym Harris on lead vocals.
